Day 1 - Kukup

Kukup Laut, a very unique and a century old fishing village built entirely on stilts on the sea surrounded by water, is the southmost village found at the southwest tip of the Peninsular of West Malaysia, and suppose to be the southmost village found in the Continental of Asia. Located about 70 kilometres away from Johor Bahru, and 20 kilometres from Pontian, Kukup Laut has only one road to access by land. It may be reached by sea boarding ferry leaving World Trade Center in Singapore daily.

The entire village is linked by jetty also built on stilts on sea. This place is famous of its seafood. It's geographically and ideally shadowed by one of the world's largest mangrove swamp island - Kukup Island along which numerous fish-farms bob up and down on the surface of the Kukup Sea. Indeed, Kukup Laut is a good place for relaxing and good place for family outing.

Meet at Yio Chu Kang MRT @ 8.30am

Bus is here and everyone looking at that direction.

Lervin is very tired. I woke him up at 7+am. Poor boy...

Our group !

Ok. We stopped at somewhere to have a quick lunch. Very unique and nice Bakuteh. Different from with SG. This Bakuteh doesn't taste hot and there's lotsa ingredients in the soup. 香菇, 肉圆, 麸皮, 猪肝, intestines etc.

Reached !!! Lervin was sleeping when we reached So I had to carry him down. From where the coach drop us, there is still quite a distance before we can reach the house. So a lady in her twenties, riding a scooter, 'longbang' me to the house! Imagine carrying Lervin with my 2 hands, I have no hands to grab her !! Was so afraid that I will fall into the water as the pavement is kinda small... Luckily we reached the house in 1 piece. =D

Some kelong houses are really pretty and big ! It like our SG semi-detached houses.

Here it is !! The place we are going to spend a night !

Total there are 6 cubicles of washroom and bathroom. I'm not used to the toilets there as whatever comes out from you will directly be flashed down into the sea below you immediately ! Even toilet papers. No pipe or whatever.

From the front view.

An extension for people to fish.

The living room.

The corridor. 4 rooms.

Ours is room 3.

Beds are big and comfy. =)

Brought Lervin out for a walk. Weather is scorching hot even when it's windy. Had to look out for him as there's lot of motorbikes riding pass.

Actually this is our lunch. But we are too hungry to think of taking photos. Eat first !!

Hus and his uncle both rent a fishing rod for abt don't know S$15 or RM15.

Nice sunset... =)

Strolling while waiting for dinner to be ready. This is the house which I believe is the most beautifully decorated. It's like bungalow !

Bought this cute slipper for Lervin at RM10. =)

Relaxing in the living room and 3 out of 4 playing iphone games.

This place allows fire crackers so Hus said he wanted to buy crackers stuffs. In the end they spent $S120. Almost every 度假屋 will have people playing. The place starts to get livlier !
