Langkawi : Day 2

Day 2
Waiting at the lobby for the bus to pick us up for our island hopping!
Really love this bikini set that comes with a sundress! Bought online for less than S$25!

On the speedboat and wind is blowing against our face hence this picture. Lol!

Tasik Dayang Bunting, or the lake of the pregnant maiden. The legendary lake and its magical fertility powers are a blessed sight after climbing the extensive stairway from the boat dock through the surrounding ‘jungle’ park.

Panorama shoot of jetty.

What you will arrive to the Pregnant Maiden Lake. Pulau Dayang Bunting, a silhouette closest to the island (Pulau Singa Besar and Pulau Tuba) resembles that of a pregnant maiden. There's a mythical legend behind this island....

The legend
Dayang Bunting is closely associated with the romantic exploitery of Mambang Sari, a beautiful female genie and Mat Teja, a male genie. Mambang Sari used to frequent the island accompanied by her maids. Their favourite spot was Pasir Teluk Air Tahun and Teluk Lawak. One day Mat Teja saw Mambang Sari and was struck by her beauty.
He fell in love with her and used to follow her wherever she went. Once while on a lookout for her, he met Tok Diang an old man from the village. Mat Teja told him of his love for Mambang Sari but just did not know how to reveal this secret. He feared that his love might not be reciprocated.
Tok Diang asked Mat Teja to get the tears of a mermaid from the sea and to wipe them on his face the next time he met Mambang Sari. He did just that and when Mambang Sari saw him she fell in love with him. They often met at various places to enjoy the beauty and serenity of these spots. They became more intimate and as a result Mambang Sari became pregnant. She chose to retire at Tasik Dayang Beranak (Lake of Born Maiden) to give birth.
Unfortunately the child died after seven days. Saddened by the death Mambang Sari took the child's body and threw it into the lake, Tasik Dayang Beranak. The lake later came to be known as Tasik Dayang Bunting. Some people believe the water of the lake possesses some mystical power of helping barren women to bear children.

There's a small pool for you to jump in and get wet, sit and chill on water-balance platforms or some paddling activity on the water. Water does not look clean, and we didn't want to get wet so we bought some tibits and just sat there under the scorching hot sun. There weren't any shady area big enough so we could sit and watch.

After 20mins or so, we walked back to the jetty. Outta nowhere, this monkey run towards me shrieking showing all it's teeth wanting to snatch the tibits I'm holding! The face looks something like this.

I was screaming and hiding behind my hus and I'm totally freaked out! Afraid that it will attack us, I threw the tibits away...

We made a pit-stop to Pulau Singa Besar (Big Lion Island) to see eagles. The boat just stop in the middle of the sea for us to just observe eagles do their thing: fly. No, we did not feed any eagles which was a disappointment. :/ That's less than 10 minutes around the area before we were off to Pulau Beras Basah (Wet Rice Island), the last destination for this Island Hopping trip.

Next we cruised to Pulau Beras Basah, a paradise tropical beach with crystal clear water and white sand. We walked on the rocks to the tip of the island to spot the end of the land and the infinity sea. We didn’t want the tour to end, however we left the breathtaking uninhabited island and motored back to the jetty.

Clear and very salty water!

I wanted to try this!!! Looks so fun! Rather expensive to play here and we decided to go cenang beach as we believe the price will be even cheaper as it's quite competitive. =)

This is hilarious!!!

Ended our island hopping and back to hotel for lunch!

They really have good pizzas and it's pretty cheap! Oh ya! The teh tarik is fantastic too!

Visit their website for the list of branches.

Straight after our lunch, we drove to cenang beach and continue our beach activities!
The playful hus. Lol!

Having cold coconut drink on this hot weather is perfect!

Preparation!

Video of our parasailing!

Next banana boat!! It's really an exciting ride!!

These 2 activities only cost us RM60!

Hang around the beach for an hour and buy some drinks... All these for just RM18! Love this place!

And also I got this beach dress for RM15!!!

After an exciting and fun filled day we are so hungry! After googling, we decided at Haroo korean restuarant which is just 5 mins walk from cenang beach. The restaurant is located opposite of the Underwater World through a small lane.
A cafe that runs by korean family, the food is nice it also has a cosy set up with some nicely hand drawn murals.
On our visit there were not many other guests, probably because the restaurant is a bit back from the main street.

The host and he is really friendly! He is never out of your sight! Lol!!

Handwritten address from the owner!

If you are planning a trip to langkawi, please do make a trip down to Haroo Restaurant! They deserve more customers!
