Cafe : Two Bakers

Sis suggest to explore this new little cafe at Jalan Besar which is the latest 'in' place with lots of new cafes. Look at the exterior.... Totally in Christmas mood especially it is raining on that day when we visit!
A very spacious area with a touch of vintage and industrial feel. Very cosy place to chill and best of all no food smells spilling out from their kitchen!

See my little 'mermaid boy'? Lol!

The decor is up ! So much

The Menu

The TwoBakers Champion Breakfast ($15)
Perhaps they could do with creamier eggs and more sautéed mushrooms.

French Toast with Sweet Caramelised Banana ($11.80)
I have sweet tooth and thus I couldn't resist to order this! But a tad disappointed as I feel it will do better with crispy edges.

Hot Chocolate for sis and Hot Mocha for myself.
Just a drink to keep self warm in this cold weather.

Brought the boy to watch 7.30pm Big Hero 6 at TBP as he has been requesting to watch.
Distinguishes itself not only in the animation but also the storytelling. Both sis and myself do thinks that it's a movie worth spending on. =)

Cafe : ButterScotch

Came across this cafe when I'm reading through the FB feeds and bookmarked this place!
Been meaning to visit this cafe for a while but did not get a chance till recently and I brought Leroy along. =)

We managed to get a table despite the small space. I guess people must have decided to just snuggle up at home on a rainy day.
I must say I really liked the design concept of the store. Although the cafe is really small, it gave a very cozy feel for the customers.

Menu wise not much of main dish to choose from

Brioche French Toast and Chicken Chop

Well, there's nothing much to rave about but portion is big so perhaps can get someone to share.
Just find the price is abit on the high side given the location and quality of food.

Cafe : Creamier with baby boy.

Few weeks ago, I had blogged about this place and now I bring baby boy along as he is a fan of waffle with ice-cream! Well who's not right? Lol!
Lots of customers today but lucky us, we manage to get a seat. Even if it is air-conditioned, I coudn't feel any cool air and there's mozzies in the shop!

Moving off to our next destination..... Creamier!!
It's quite inaccessible but due to overwhelming good reviews for this shop, we went all the way there to check it out. Just few shops away the buttery flavour and irresistible aroma couldn't be wrong....
The little shop is all full with people and luckily we manage to get a seat before the huge crowd keep coming. DOwnside, tables are a little small and seats aren’t very comfy.

After waiting for 20mins here it is!
With excited anticipation, we were delighted to be greeted by the two thick chunks of waffles sitting on a puddle of maple syrup and chocolate sauce, and topped with two scoops of ice cream of our choice.

A visit to Creamier is a must, especially if you are an ice- cream fan and that is if you are prepared to face the overwhelming crowd during the peak hours.

Cafe : Group Therapy & ReStore

Finally our next gathering!
Luckily I told my sis about the cafe we are planning to go at first which is at The Plains and she advise us to skip that cafe. It close at 7.30pm and there isn't much selection of food. She recommend 2 cafes and 1 is Group Therapy and we are so glad that we came!

You will not notice/expect there's a cafe there as the cafe is well-hidden on the second level of the shophouses along Duxton Road, directly above Etna Italian restaurant.

This is what the ladies do while waiting for food! Photos!

The Poached Eggs (Must order!)
Stacked on top of an extremely thick and fluffy toast, the poached eggs with salmon came with a generous helping of the hollandaise sauce. We really love this!

Truffled Ravioli
The ravioli was stuffed with wild porcini mushrooms and truffles, topped with freshly made tomato basil sauce and grated parmesan cheese. This one was really good.

Steak and Cheese Pie
The pie crust was nice though, and not too buttery or greasy. Pie is tuffed full of tasty and savoury chunks of beef and it has very little filler or starch.

Belgium Style Waffles with ice-cream, chopped walnuts and fruits
The waffles were thick and crisp going well with vanilla ice cream and the sinful caramel drizzle.

Will definitely be back!

Decide to go for another cafe hunting and we walked around the area and saw this cafe!
Located right behind a bus-stop along Tanjong Pagar Road and those who are unaware, might think of this place to be a furniture shop.

There are space constraints in ReStore, furniture line one side whilst cafe tables line the other.

Earl Grey tea.
Accompanied with a piece of very-delicious Earl Grey Cookies which is a must-try in my opinion.

Creme Caramel

Berry Good waffle (yes.. waffle again!)
Comes with freshly sliced strawberries and blueberries, topped with icing sugar and freshly whipped cream.

Nothing much to rave about but I heard from sis that there's a change of hands and the standard isn't the same as before. Nevertheless if you have the craving for some muffins, homemade waffles or simply just to have a cup of coffee and desserts, you can give it a try.
