Our Saturday.

On and off we had been buying things for our house even before the renovation starts and now we have to keep it at our place. So here we are at Punggol!

How I wish they are always this loving.....


The hus was cleaning up the dust on car and the boys volunteer to help!


Meetup with their god-pa after that as they stay just few streets away. =)
Another reason to love this area as I've lots of friends and relatives staying all around Punggol and Sengkang.

Defect check.

This is crazy....
So much defects that it took us 1 whole day to check and still not complete...
Maybe we are too detailed... Every little things also mark as defect. Way before I collected my keys, I had been closely following our BTO FB group on the defects our fellow neighbours found. They are so nice that they even drafted out a copy of defect list and save in our group for our reference and this certainly helps a lot.
What makes me to be this detail in checking is because for this amount of money I paid, I had to make sure I'm getting quality work.
Adding on, BSC (Building Services Centre) which is located right under 1 of the blocks for this project will only be for a certain period of time. During this period of time, any defect I found, I can just WALKED over to submit and check status. So if there's any issue after they leave, I can only report to HDB and I believe it will takes them ages to retify.

The first 'Opening Door'

Finally this day has come!!!
During these 3 years of waiting for the project to be complete, we had drove here umpteen times to look at the construction progress. Level by level and only able to view from a distance by the roadside. But today, holding the keys to our place, we are going in for the first time! How exciting this is and I believe all new home owners will definitely understand how we feel!!!

We had got the date and time 'calculated'. Today is the 'opening door' date and we have to do all the offerings and leave the home by 2pm. It's quite a happening day as there's quite a crowd with us. Good as it means "人气旺" =)
Now for the process.
We have to step aside after opening the door meaning do not stand in the middle of the walkway. This is to let whatever 'things' inside to leave the place.
Rolling of pineapple. This has been a practice for many generations when they first open the door of a new house. Rolling in of a pineapple or "Ong" (Prosperity) sounds like rolling luck into the home! Shouted 'Huat Ah' when doing this procedures. I was laughing away then!
Start to doing the prayer etc....

Oh ya! Remember to keep your mind calm and say only speak positive words!

Waited 3 Yrs For This!

Busy settling the investment thing for the past week! Due to some issue, we didnt submit our investment on time and thus I have to keep making calls to bank, cpf and investment coy. But thank God! Everything settled by thursday and I can proceed for key collection today!!
While waiting for our no. to be called, was telling hus this had been a long wait and him holding my hands and said 'this is all worth it.' Awwwww........
No. called and we are told to proceed to level 2 to buy the flat insurance and back here again for the signing of agreement. Tons of papers to sign...... after confirming the loan period, looking at our cpf once more... and we sign on that dotted line that will make us be in debt for the next 20yrs + cpf all swipe out!!!!

Collection of key!

It's indeed a long wait!
But I still haven't to delay the collection of keys as there's some pending issues that I need to settle before collection. But still... Happy !!!

First meeting with ID

While in the midst of waiting for 2nd HLE approve, we started our meeting with IDs.
It rather late compare to neighbours who had started sourcing and looking around half year before?

I guess we still have enough time to look around since we are not in the rush.
Search online for the design I want and also learn more about the product and materials they used. It's indeed very informative as at least I can understand a little when the IDs explain to us.
Today's meetup we got a estimated quote and get to see ID's flat (he design himself) and another unit which just finish renovating.

Meeting another 2 ID in another week!
It is so fun!
