During these 3 years of waiting for the project to be complete, we had drove here umpteen times to look at the construction progress. Level by level and only able to view from a distance by the roadside. But today, holding the keys to our place, we are going in for the first time! How exciting this is and I believe all new home owners will definitely understand how we feel!!!
We had got the date and time 'calculated'. Today is the 'opening door' date and we have to do all the offerings and leave the home by 2pm. It's quite a happening day as there's quite a crowd with us. Good as it means "人气旺" =)
Now for the process.
We have to step aside after opening the door meaning do not stand in the middle of the walkway. This is to let whatever 'things' inside to leave the place.
Rolling of pineapple. This has been a practice for many generations when they first open the door of a new house. Rolling in of a pineapple or "Ong" (Prosperity) sounds like rolling luck into the home! Shouted 'Huat Ah' when doing this procedures. I was laughing away then!
Start to doing the prayer etc....
Oh ya! Remember to keep your mind calm and say only speak positive words!
Took a video while hus roll the pineapple in but I had yet to upload. Will post a follow up post!
