Get busy!

Had bought most of the gifts at least a month ago but I just started to wrap tonight!!
Rushed home to prepare dinner bath the boy before starting my wrap-the-gift-mission at 10.30pm and it ends at 1.30am with half of the presents wrapped! That includes finding the presents, some handicraft and packing in bags. Gonna continue the wrapping tomorrow night after Christmas party at Leroy's school.

Comfort food on cold night.

Baby boy requested porridge with some side dish tonight and here it is. Very simple but yet comforting.

The boy is going for school outing to Garden by the Bay tomorrow and he is super excited!
He requested to pack his bag for this trip early. Well, it is good to have this good inititative to do things early rather than last minute.
So when we reach home today, I'm busy preparing our dinner and this boy gets busy again going through items which is already in his bag and stuff in more things inside. I'm very curious what he will bring but I've no time to check his bag. After dinner I will!

Didi can't wait to eat so when I'm preparing the last dish, he asked for my phone and quickly take a photo of this dish as he knows I always do that. Lol!

I don't cook everyday thus my children sometimes still eat pack food and I feel super guilty.
My cooking skill is not as good as my mum but I try do check online for some easy recipe and cook for them and when the dish turns out good, I share with my mum! =)
Before I start my own family, I don't like cooking and finds it a hassle. The mess, the smell of oil and sweat, the cleaning up, I find it really troublesome. I always think that why such a trouble? Just 'dabao' food, eat and throw! Don't even have to wash the dishes. But when it comes to a point that after starting my own family and have children, no one in the house can cook and we are without a maid(most maid will be able to cook simple dishes), will you still have the same mindset as before? Some may think, 'aiyah just order tingkat lor. Slighty better than buying from stalls' But would you rather cook healthier food that you know what's being added in the food or eat what is being cook by others and not knowing if there is 'extra ingredient' added? Can't wait for mum to stay with us at our place!

Pasta for dinner.

Boys requested to have pasta for dinner again.
Saying about cooking, I miss my mum's homecook so much but I can only go over every friday….
Few more months and I can eat everyday!! Yay!

Really salute their generation… Able to cook so many different type of dishes and for my mum, she can wip up something similar dish just by watching cooking programs…
I hope I can be like my mum, able to cook different delicious dish for my family. I'm slowly picking up the skill from my mum. Thinking back, I can't believe I'm cooking out of my daily busy schedule for my family. I never thought I could step in the kitchen and wip up few dishes(takes longer time than mum. =p). The smell, washing, preparing and the time spend, I rather buy takeaway. But ever since kids came along, I know they can't eat out everyday. When you have no choice, no matter how much you hate it, you still have to do. So I make the effort to learn and to cook for them. From after work, fetching the kids, teaching, housework, cooking, I did everything myself. With no help from family members or maid. From the busy schedules I have, I only have 1-2hr for myself and by then it's already 11+pm. But still seeing them eat healthy and good makes it all worth it. =)

Added sautéed mushroom to dish menu and it's a hit! Very simple dish that goes well with any main.

I had to cook pasta at least once a week or whenever the boys request.
I'm not good at cooking so when the boys likes it, I always source o n net for better recipe and cook for them. =)
Today, I have a little helper! Whenever I need help, he will without hesitation volunteer!

I'm quite scared when he holds the knife.. So I stand beside him through the whole process.

Although it takes longer time to finish cooking, we have fun!

Simple homecook tonight!

Always feel guilty when my kids have takeaway for dinner. It's like me as a mum is not doing my part. Never easy being a ftwm and doing cooking and house chores after work. so whenever I cook, although its tiring after a day's work, I'm happy. At least my boys are having healthier food. =)

Got mum to help me buy cod fish. 2pcs of cod fish cost $22!
Cod fish marinated with teriyaki sauce overnight. I added sugar and water as the sauce is a bit too salty.

Dinosaur shape pasta!

With the newly bought dinosaur shape pasta, the boys had been pestering me to cook their favourite tomato pasta.
This time the sauce taste so much better!

Happy 6 Birthday Lervin !

Another year had passed and my boy is offically 6 today. He is growing up too fast! I still can remember those years when he is still bubbling in baby language, when he throws baby tantrum(I still have the photos!), his first of everything... Miss those years...

Today is the boy's day! Every request he make will be fulfil! It's a pity Leroy couldn't join us as he is unwell...
Before all activities, we need to get our tummy filled. This is the malay stall that hus had been telling me. They sell fried fish roe which is the popular dish along the rest. When I finally have the chance to go there, there's no delivery for fish roe today!





After we went straight to POLW at sentosa as what Lervin request!
100 Curio coins for him to use on snacks and plays! A good way to let the children handle and use it themselves.

We went back to mum's place for steamboat dinner! My hus and I are happy that Lervin had enjoyed himself so much!

Simple Dinner

Wanted to prepare a simple dinner for the boys as I'm still unwell. Macaroni bolognese with mushroom and hotdog topped with parmesan cheese and bacon bits. Less than 30mins of preparation and cooking. =)

PTC / Homcook dinner~

Hus return to work today and the boys started school~
Only me! Returning to work tomorrow as today is our coy holiday! Although I'm not working, I'm still very busy!
Send the boys to centre, marketing, pepare ingredients for tonight's dinner, back to centre at 2pm for PTC (parent-teacher conference), back home at 3.45pm and started preparing dinner, fetch the boys at 5.30pm and my day stretch all the way to 11+pm…. It's not easy being homemaker. Sometimes I really envy some of my friends. They are very fortunate as they don't need to cook, and most of the housechores are done by maid or in laws. For me, I did everything myself. Athough it is very tiring after a long day at work and still need to be home to look after the boys but 我很有满足感!

I love Friday as it's the day we will go mum's place for dinner and chat with my siblings~
